Credelio for cats neutralizes 99% fleas and 98% ticks within 12 and 24 hours of administration respectively. The monthly flea chew is a highly palatable treatment that treats and controls fleas (Ctenocephalides felis) & tick infestations of Amblyomma americanum (lone star tick), Dermacentor variabilis (American cat tick), Ixodes scapularis (black-legged tick) and Rhipicephalus sanguineus (brown cat tick). The chew is safe for kittens more than 8 weeks of age and weighing more than 1.1 lbs.
The active ingredient Lotilaner in Credelio flea and tick treatment for cats is an ectoparasiticide from isoxazoline group that stops insect’s and acarine’s gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-gated chloride channels. This blocks the transfer of chloride ions across cell membranes, which in turn results in uncontrolled neuromuscular activity leading to the death of insects and acarines.
The treatment also helps in the treatment of Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD).
