Frontline Plus for Dogs is a trusted topical external parasitic protection. This monthly treatment is indicated for puppies and dogs 8 weeks and older, weighing at least 5 lbs including breeding, pregnant and lactating dogs.
When applied as recommended, Frontline Plus for Dogs kills adult fleas, flea eggs and flea larvae preventing all flea life stages from developing. It stops existing flea infestations and prevents new ones from establishing. The composition also kills fleas which may cause Flea Allergy Dermatitis. This spot-on formula kills all tick life stages of the brown dog tick, American dog tick, lone star tick and deer tick. It also kills ticks that may transmit Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever and other tick-borne diseases. This monthly formula also eliminates chewing lice and helps in controlling sarcoptic mange infestations.
Frontline Plus flea and tick treatment for dogs contains two active ingredients, fipronil and s-methoprene. After application, the formula spreads throughout the dog's body localizing in the hair, on the skin surface and in the sebaceous glands. These glands slowly and continuously replenish the formula onto the skin and coat. Fleas, ticks and chewing lice are killed when they come into contact with the treated dog.
Note: Merial is now owned by Boehringer Ingelheim and combined with their animal health business. Depending on the stocks, the product packs may have either manufacturer names on the label.
